Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior Therapy
Body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) are a group of disorders that cause people to engage in repetitive behaviors that can damage their bodies. Examples of BFRBs include hair-pulling (trichotillomania) and skin-picking (dermatillomania). Shame and anxiety can make BFRBs worse. Treatment for BFRBs typically includes therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Travis Psycho Educational Services can help you with body-focused repetitive behavior therapy.
